Apr 9, 2018Frankfort Community Care Home.A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Frankfort City Cemetery.Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Branton Smith, Cole Ahlvers, Wade Ahlvers, Dave Smith, Joe Burton, John Peckham and Dennis Ahlvers.Raymond Edward Ahlvers was born July 16, 1934, at Glen Elder, the son of Adolph and Leila Deland Ahlvers. He attended Lone Hill Country School and graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1952.He married Diane Barnett Nov. 25, 1954, at Glen Elder.In March 1956, Raymond, Diane and his mother moved to a farm southwest of Frankfort, where he farmed with his brother, Melvin. They lived on the farm until 2011, when he and Diane moved into Frankfort.He enjoyed spending time with his family, sports, hunting, fishing, farming, country music, Christmas, ice cream and a good laugh.Survivors include his wife; children, Sandra Burton, Lynn Smith and Keith Ahlvers, all of Frankfort, and Lori Ahlvers, Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Bonnie Rathbun, Salina; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, A. Harold Ahlvers and Melvin Ahlvers; and an infant sister.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Frankfort Community Care Home.
